The Maryland Terrapins suspended voluntary football workouts Saturday after the latest round of COVID-19 testing.
The school said there were nine positive tests among the 185 athletes and staff members screened on campus this week.
There were no positive tests when Maryland examined 105 athletes in June.
The Terrapins are coming off a 3-9 season in 2019.
With the Big Ten moving to a conference-only schedule this fall amid the pandemic, the current first game on Maryland's slate is Oct. 3 against Minnesota.
