The Eagles signed wide receiver Deon Cain to the practice squad on Monday. To make room, the team released linebacker Christian Elliss.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Cain is familiar to Head Coach Nick Sirianni and former members of the Colts' coaching staff as he was Indianapolis' sixth-round pick in 2018 out of Clemson.

Cain made his NFL debut in the 2019 season opener and playing in seven games (three starts) for the Colts, amassing four catches for 52 yards. He was waived then signed to the Colts' practice squad before the Pittsburgh Steelers inked Cain to their active roster for the rest of the season. In six games (three starts) with the Steelers, Cain added another five catches for 72 yards.

Cain spent 2020 on the Steelers' practice squad and was promoted to the active roster for two games, both against the Cleveland Browns. In total, Cain has nine catches for 124 yards in 15 regular-season games.

The Baltimore Ravens signed Cain to a reserve/futures deal in January, but he was placed on Injured Reserve prior to the final roster cutdown then released.

The Tampa native played in 42 games (14 starts) in three seasons at Clemson, totaling 130 catches for 2,040 yards, and 20 touchdowns. He was a third-team All-ACC selection as a junior in his final college season when he had 58 receptions for 734 yards and six touchdowns. As a sophomore, Cain averaged a team-best 19.1 yards per catch and had 94 yards in the National Championship win over Alabama.
