Veteran defensive lineman John Jenkins has been a great fit in his first year in Baltimore. Now it will be a prolonged partnership.

The Ravens reached a contract extension with Jenkins two days before they play the Steelers for the AFC North title in Pittsburgh.

At 36 years old, Jenkins has played some of his best football this season. His 67.4 Pro Football Focus grade is his highest mark since 2021.

Jenkins has helped the Ravens' run defense rank 11th in the NFL at 107.1 yards per game. Since Week 10, Baltimore ranks first in the NFL in expected points added per carry, third in success rate, and third in yards per carry allowed (3.7),per the Baltimore Banner.

Jenkins has made 36 tackles, including three for loss, and two forced fumbles. He stepped into the starting lineup early this season after Nnamdi Madubuike went on injured reserve with a neck injury.

With Madubuike's future status unknown, the Ravens have now secured the future of defensive linemen Jenkins and Travis Jones, who inked a three-year contract extension in mid-December.
